Williamson Praises Buttler’s Stunning Knock Against RCB

Williamson Praises Buttler: New Zealand batter Kane Williamson was highly impressed with Jos Buttler’s brilliant innings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2025. Speaking about it, the former Gujarat Titans (GT) star highlighted how Buttler’s mindset seems to have evolved due to the new dressing room environment. Williamson, currently working as an expert, praised Buttler’s ability to rely on conventional shots without changing his technique to score runs.

Williamson also acknowledged Buttler as one of the league’s most consistent batters over the past eight years. The Kiwi cricketer believes Buttler’s continued form in IPL 2025 is a great sign for GT.

“What I’m really enjoying about Jos at the moment is that, while many big hitters in other teams are looking to hit every ball for six, he remains totally committed to and trusting of his game plan. Over the last eight years, he has consistently been one of the top batters and a match-winner in world cricket. We saw that again this evening, and it bodes really well for GT as we advance in the tournament,” Williamson said on JioHotstar.

When asked about Mohammed Siraj’s bowling performance, Williamson acknowledged the pacer’s aggression and familiarity with the conditions in Bengaluru. He believed Siraj’s early breakthroughs set the tone for GT’s victory, ultimately allowing Buttler to finish in style.

“Siraj is obviously familiar with the conditions at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. He bowled with real fire in his belly, led the attack with aggression, and bowled with some excellent pace. He was deservedly named Player of the Match. While Jos Buttler was outstanding and back to his best in the second innings, Siraj set the tone early on, making a significant impact for GT,” he added.

Siraj delivered a fantastic spell, finishing with figures of 3/19 in his four overs. Meanwhile, Buttler played a match-winning knock, scoring an unbeaten 73*(39), guiding GT to an eight-wicket victory.
